Horrendous.

Horrendous.
Gary Kemp, How We Made True:
I was infatuated with Clare Grogan [the Altered Images singer and star of Gregory's Girl]. I met her on Top of the Pops and, at one point, travelled up to Scotland to have tea with her and her mum and dad. Although my feelings were unrequited and the relationship was platonic, it was enough to trigger a song, True, which became the name of our 1983 album, too.
True is about how difficult it is to be honest when you're trying to write a love song to someone. Hence: "Why do I find it hard to write the next line?" The lyrics are full of coded messages to Clare.
Blimey.
Their new album is coming in June. 27 years after the last one.
Kate Nash's second album My Best Friend Is You was released two years ago this week.
I still play it regularly. A largely overlooked classic.
Fred Harris is the bloke who stacks the blocks into the Chockablock Block Stock.
Love this, especially the music. My favourite couple of quotes:
I'm going to keep sleeping with lots of women, get drunk, and be a bad father and friend…yet somehow, I'll still be one of the most beloved characters on television.
Now I gotta go and sleep with Joan and Jane. I'm old and gray but I get the hottest tail on the show.
Season 5 starts this week. Can't wait.
